Are you saying you are shocked that I might point out a possible advantage in one catagory of a Honda over a 7 ?

I think you going for gas mileage is okay and your business, but now you guys are sparring over performance issues.

We all know that the 7 has far and away more potential than a Honda. We also know that because of emissions alot of that potential was smothered in the stock 7 released to the public.

So what is anybody trying to say ?

ok, no offense taken, but i really don't see why u'd want to go to a civic from an rx7... my drummer has a 91 civic hatch(i think its a 91, or 92) and its dog slow... he's riced it out plenty too... he's the kind of kid that always drives in 3rd gear at 6000 rpm just cause its the cool thing to do... cut his exhaust off too... its not real reliable either.... i don't see how itd be any different than ur 7... i think u should try and figure out why ur getting 11 mpg highway and fix that... cause i'm sure ur car is capable of much better mpg than that

thats definately taking away some of ur MPG... the 12A has a shorter 5th gear, and different rear end gears, at least if memory serves correct... the SE had a longer 5th gear and i think 4.11 gears? or something like that...

well the se had a 4:10 gear, and the gsl has a 3:93 i believem the 4:10 would be worse on the highway than the 3:93

I'm closing this thread. It has nothing to offer the 1st Gen section other than banter. Hell, it's not even about Greg's 1st Gen, other than the fact that he wants to get rid of it.

Greg: If you're gonna do it, power to ya. But just do it. There's no point to making a thread until you leave. You KNOW this kind of thing creates big threads just like the people who talk about V8 swaps.

In the interest of fairness, I'll say that my friend Jim's CRX is fun as hell, nimble and light. We can even shove our friend Sandy into the hatch, we call him "trunkboy". It gets good gas milage, but stock-for-stock, my '84 can beat the crap out of his '86 any day of the week.

My Rx7 is rare, fast, RWD and has awesome potential. It also burns gas more than an SUV and kills more trees than all the logging in Nova Scotia and BC combined (exaggeration here). Cops don't pay it any attention because it looks stock and it's not a Civic (which get lots of **** up here).

BOTH cars have their advantages and disadvantages, but I think most of the people on this forum are part of this community because of their LOVE for the Rx7. At least the ones who stick around beyond getting answers for single technical questions.

I wish you luck, no matter which route you take G, but frankly, until you actually DO something, I don't really give a crap about reading threads on it.

Thread Closed.
