Compression?

Hi all...just bought 1985 GSL 12A. Read compression today the old fashioned way....came up with 98/103/104/104....are these numbers acceptable?

On a different note...car runs like crap...idles ok (750) but bogs down when hitting the accelerator and I was told by the seller the secondaries don't work. I watched the video on line about the "lever" that needs to be engaged with the "T"...it wasn't connected, so I connected it, but it didn't help anything...guess a carb rebuild is in my future...would really like to ditch all the emissions crap and the rats nest, but I have struck out trying to get the tutorial that apparently was on here...so if anyone has it, would very much appreciate someone email it to me...thanks!!!! Yes - these are good. The lower limit is about 85 with a true rotary compression tester. Is this the max value? Did you keep the value button pushed down? Push it down and then take a video with your phone as someone cranks then slow the video down to see the bounces.

the values were "bouncing" a bit higher than what I reported...just wanted to make sure the engine itself is OK...now, the freaking carburetor...(guessing)...

thanks for the reply!!!! Mike

A traditional tester may be deceptive. It can hide a low chamber, hence watching on the phone.
