Compare Handling: GSL vs SE

Hey, can anyone here compare the handling performance between a stock GSL and a GSL-SE? I think the suspension differences are larger tires (which today are pretty much a non-issue due by adding larger aftermarket tires and wheels) and lowering the training links by 20mm.

I'm curious on how large of a difference exists. Can anyone provide their thoughts?

All 84-85 cars got the lower rear links.Far as I know, there are no suspension changes for the SE over the lesser models.Additional weight from the SE's extras would be the only thing that should affect its handling. But the wider, lower profile 14" tires should offset that a bit.

Guilty as charged. 24 years old to be exact. Maybe I should save up and change them! They still work fine though.

I think the non-power steering GSL handles better. The power steering in the SE does not provide very good road feedback IMO.

Actually, I am pretty sure that only the SE got the links, as well as the 14" wheels and wider tires. Most SE RX-7s came with PS, but it was an option.

I didn't know about the shocks. The SE is shorter steering from lock to lock as well.

I guess my question is more subjective than a review of specs. To those of you that have driven both, do you find a significant difference? Or is the difference pretty much eliminated by adding wider and modern wheeks and tires to the non-SE?

Thanks!

I think I do, are the stock shocks on the SE's KYB brand shocks? I wasn't aware that was original equipment, but they looked original.

My SE doesn't have power steering either...
