colour and cost

about to buy an 82 gsl, but it needs a respray. just wondering what colour would loo good...

atm is a very patchy yellow,
and i would like to have it yellow with black stripes. or the burnt orange that the holdens have
. but ppl are saying this'd look crap..

so any other sugestions, or pics would be great (specially of a 7 with stripes coz i really want stripes :-) )

also how much would i be loking at paying to get it done?

-Cheers

If you are a pureist, as I am you should stay with an '82 production colour.

Here this may help...

Paint Codes

But Orange does look sexey...

R7 Orange

thats nice (looks bad on my moniter.. but thats coz its an old giant with little brightness left "BUT I LOVE THE 21"!!!!!")

the colour that the holdens are though is VERY nice.. but'll cost me an arm and a leg..

anyone have any experience with the 'camilieon' (sp) paint?
the one where it changes coour from different angles?

how ridiculessly expensive is it?

The proper term for your Chameleon paint is Irridescent paint.

My guess is that it will cost lots. But I don't know

I've always been partial to yellow (2003 color: Mazda code BZ-21T - Chrome Yellow Clearcoat).

Total paint and prep cost was $1400, but this included door interiors, inside of hood, and prep and spray on all ground effects. Still needs a color-sand, but will get that done this summer.

i like the idea of yellow
mainly coz the car is already that coulor = dont have to do engine bay and nigaly little bits,

and if it's a nicee paint job.. yellow is very attention getting = more ppl notic the 7.. which is never a bad thing!

Here's the picture that I tried to post, above:

Yellow is a great color with brown interior and should come out pretty good since that was your original color.
