Yellow with a red pearl over it if you want to be different.
My car is PPG Concepts Guards Red, which is a Porsche red. Gorgeous color; pretty good depth, too.
I'm a big fan of the tender blue color that came stock on first gens, as well. It just looks so clean and classic.

Go white with a really nice pearl blue clear coat. My Trans Am that I had had this paint job and was really nice. Personally I am going to paint my car that same blue as the Puralator oil filtters. That blue is just like to me. That is just my opinion though.

Two Tone Paint
Here are a couple of the ones I have done. If you are adventurous, you can try a shaded paint scheme. The silver convertible is bright silver on top, and shaded to a charcoal metallic on the rockers.
The coupe is a sparkle metallic red, not too bright, and seems to go well with the silver. I think a bright red would be a bit harsh with the silver. I like to use the natural lines of the car to separate the colors.

paint the front half white & the back half black & have it transition with flames, starting with a light yellow, then to orange, then red, then blue at the tips.
Now that would look cool.
