Thumbs up Coating for housings and rotors.

A friend of mine passed this on to me. I don't know much about it but I figured some of you might be interested in it.

I seriously considered it, but the cost of that stuff puts you near the cost of new parts, and I felt more secure with new parts. One usage that is undoubtedly beneficial is to coat the apex seal springs when running ceramic seals. The coating will keep the seals from wearing down the springs, and it doesn't cost much in that application.

I'm thinking of buying a set of 12a housings from them, ever since mazda stopped making 12a housings they seem to be the only hope of keeping our ancient motors alive through the 21st century. It costs $700 for a set of their cermet b housings, and from what I hear mazda used a very similar rotor housing coating in the 787b. I'm glad a company finally found a way to turn a pile of junk housings into gold.

well if im not mistaken, they olnly accept housings that are useable to coat. i think if theres too much chrome flaking or chipping they cannot do their service. makes me think about taking apart my 12A and having them coat it somewhere along the line later as i have one of the last new sets running in my car

Sorry but I always have to wonder how much attention to detail their product gets when they can't get the spelling right on a web page.

Does the same to me. I believe the website is either down or they changed their URL. After searching around, I cannot find them anymore. It is possible their site is down. The last update they had for the page was on August of 2008.

That doesn't make sense... I would think that they sand/grind off the chrome down to the metal sleeve for better attachment of the ceramic coating.

I've heard really good things about this company from the guys at Pineapple racing. Some of their test cars apparently have 30k+ miles with no problems whatsoever. Not saying they're perfect, but its a good step to having reliable "like new" housings, especially for us 12A guys.

I heard good things from those who have had there housing ceramic coated. Gives me great hope since NOS parts are a rare as hens teeth (as a trusted friend on this forum likes to say.)
