coasting valve

Is there any problem with pulling the coasting valve out including the butterfly valve in the carb base and pluging the holes?

I did , all it does is saves fuel and acts like an engine break (but mine was unoperable at the time of removal so it was howling as the engine revved)

I also pulled mine and JB welded the holes. Haven't really noticed a difference, but haven't had any problems either.
