GSL-SE exhaust question

Hey guys,

About to replace my exhaust system and have looked at some of the older posts.

My question is, how big should you go (stock port) ?

I will likely have to reuse my header, but will take it from there all the way back. I was thinking about going 2.5" but I'm wondering if this is a wise idea, as the stock headers are 2" (I believe).

I would probably save $$ going 2" all the way back, but I don't want to sell myself short on performance.

Thanks!

I believe all of the aftermarket exhausts are 2 2inch collected into 1 2.5inch. The main difference in the systems are the length of the primaries. some collect at the end of the header, some right befroe the rear axle. The long primary system is suppsed to be a bit better for power.

Do you already have a header because the car didn't come with one stock? 2" pipe to 2 1/2" collected like yayarx7 said. Some people even go to a 3" collected but that is probably not going to get you any more power from a stock port. Definitely do a long primary system. Collect the two pipe at the back axle. I hope you put a good muffler on it. Don't choke it.

Yeah...dont' have an aftermarket header/collector.

I'm looking at the parts fiche and seeing the stock manifold and it doesn't look too horrible but not great either. I am thinking of replacing from the first cat all the way back, and then adding the header in later when I have the $$$.

Dunno if this is recommended or not but...
