Clutch suggestions
Hi,
We have an RX2 with a series 2 RX7 12A bridgeport (~220-230 hp) and we are trying to work out what sort of clutch to use. It is currently killing the centres of the clutches (springs and spline attachments) leaving the friction surfaces OK, so there might be another problem there. We had a sprung 4 button clutch cluch with a 1 tonne pressure plate.
Some people suggest they just use standard daiken clutches on their bridgeports with no hassles.
We have a gut feeling that the stepping on the flywheel (between the friction surface and the mounting face) may not be right - would this cause this problem?
any suggestions?
Thanks

My brother is getting his S2 RX7 back soon with a 13B Bridgy in it. It has a full face Daiken clutch plate with a 1 ton pressure plate, and this is what has been recommended, with a lightened flywheel.
If you think it may be the flywheel, then get yourself a lightened one and then get a new clutch to go with it.
Good luck.
