Clutch Recommendations
I'm looking for a new clutch for my 83 (12A w/bolt ons).
It is a race car and only sees track duty but it's fairly stock.
How bad would I be off with say an OEM Exedy clutch kit versus say an Exedy Stage 1 street kit? Is Exedy even the best way to go?
I do endurance racing but like I said, the car is low HP and typically driven with care, but I don't want to replace the clutch every two races if it burns up from too much track use either.
Ideas?

exedy = stock. which is fine. an alternative is a sprung hub copper clutch like this guy RX7 1975-1985: Clutch/Pressure Plate: Sport/Race Clutch Disc - 71-82 12A & 13B -
I concur. Stock is fine, and exedy is one of the better choices for OEM. I've been using an exedy OEM for 5+ years of street/autocross action with no issues.
The puck-type clutches are a bit "grabby", which can increase the chances of stalling the engine on takeoff, as well as place a bit more shock on the driveline when you don't stall it. Both are not as desireable during an endurance-type race, with multiple pit stops and driver changes.
