Clutch Problems

Ok I was drivin my 7 the other day my woman loving the ride and I was slwoin down to take a pretty sharp corner (was goin bout 87 mph) and I went into 2nd and coasted through the corner and was about to floor it and kick it but the clutch petal floored itself and and nasty *** smell came from the transmission....it's still stinkin right now AND the transmission is STILL a lil warm....

WTF happened to my car!?!?!?!?

It sucks bcz I just finally got it running (bout a month ago) from the SAME problem...but that went out normally.....

And also whats the correct way to slow down with an Rx-7....I've heard Engine break from other 7 owners and NOT to use the engine to help in brakin...

Check you master and slave clutch cylinders. Also check the adjustment of the pedal to master rod adjustment. It may be too tight, not allowing full clutch engagement.

Well for one, going into 2nd at 87 mph is in no way good for the clutch or transmission. Don't try to impress the women by blowing up your car!!!

2nd is way too fast, maybe 3rd but not 2nd. You might have burnt up your clutch.

Lol...I wasnt goin 87 in second....I was in forth goin 87 and I slowed down and coasted threw the corner with clutch engaged then went to take off in second and it happened....

Can it even go 80 in second gear??? I dont think thats quite possible....unless it isnt stock or something....

Rx7carl: I'll check those as soon as I get back from sping break (goin to Florida!)

ok very carefully try to remember now put your "thinking" cap on. How fast were you going when you let off the clutch?

ok. Thats a big factor. Now it could be a lot of things. Do you have any clutch fluid in yuor resivour? Check to see if you have leaks in your hydraulic system too. You might want to take it to a transmission shop, could have screwed up some things in it, could have burnt your clutch by some chance.

YapaKanichi: yea it's fine with fluids (other than Oil and brake fluid)...also no leaks....ran that over...couple of times actually... I'm most likely goin to take it to a shop of some sort and have them fix her....I miss her already.........

Rx7carl: forgot to mention this earlier....the master and slave cylinders are BOTH OEM....menaing there 19 years old....pushin 20...
