OH Clutch Pedal acting strange

So,
I got the car running yesterday after sitting for a long time. Cruising around the neighborhood I notices the clutch pedal would stick periodically when I pushed it to the floor. If I put buy toe under it , it would pop back up no problem. It shifts in and out of gear no problem and the clutch isn't slipping. I have it up on stands now and worked the pedal a hundred times but it went up and down fine. I didn't see any issue at the pivot point either? Just wondering if this may be pointing to a potential clutch problem?
Thank you for any response
Tom S.

Added obligatory car photos!!

It could possibly be a clutch master or slave cylinder that's getting some sticktion from sitting for a while? Have you tried bleeding the fluid to get new fluid in there?

No I haven't bled the system yet, that was next on my to do list..... I may replace the master and slave anyway from what I've seen they are not that expensive.

If you replace the Clutch Master, replace the Clutch Slave as well, and take a long, hard look at the soft line connecting them while you're at it. If one is weak, they're both the same age; once you put a strong part in, the weak part fails immediately. Always change as a pair, and complete assemblies are preferred, as the rebuild kits are hit or miss, and highly dependent on a successful bench bleeding process.

Mine does the same thing. Mine is the seal on the inside of the car. I sprayed with silicone and it’s working fine.

my master and slave are only a few years old. If yours are original or old, they are probably bad. I’d try the silicone spray first. The rubber seal catches on the cylinder.

I would not be surprised if that what it is as I have never seen this in any manual before....but who knows it may turn out to be stiction or cylinder failure??

My clutch master/slave left me stranded in the middle of no where once. When I took it apart all the insides were completely deteriorated. I replaced everything including the soft hose but not the metal hose. It was very inexpensive as I remember for all the parts. I wouldn't even both trying to fix it, just get brand new everything so you don't end up like me. In hindsight, if I ever get another vintage car it'll be on the top of my list of things to replace first.

It is very fast to replace all the parts, did it in a friends driveway in about an hour.

I would also recommend replacing the clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, clutch hose, and crush washer. It's likely that they need replaced due to the car sitting and the fact that the DOT3 in the system is hydroscopic. Moisture in the fluid causes corrosion to build up on the bores of the slave and master and sticking on the piston seal can occur on each.

A side note, I love the 35th Anniversary Corvette! I have three C4 Corvettes and love each one. Currently restoring a flood damaged 20k mile 95 6spd Corvette.

My 35th needs redone again...it sat in driveway under cover for a couple years.....has some major issues but nothing I can't fix. It's a driver, but a lot of fun!! My first one was a black/tan 90..
