Question clutch fork?

ok, i bought my car didnt drive it round to much and like a lil less than a month i took it to the drag strip 2 test it out because it had a few good mods (rb manifold with a holley 600, header, full exhaust, all emmission's removed) well it only lasted 2.5 passes because on the last pass it wouldnt go from 2nd - 3rd, from then on it wouldnt want 2 grab gear, changed out the slave cuz that's what i thought it was, bleed the ever livin crap outta it from the slave and from the clutch master but i noticed that there's a gap between the slave needle and clutch fork...is it possible the fork is bent, i mean i've personally never heard of one getting bent before or could i have the wrong slave, i mean it look's like it's a gsl-se tranny, because the motor is a old school 13b so idk if it might be somethin else or not, idk if it matters, and yes i have checkd and have come up empty handed when it comes 2 clutch fork, it does however grab gear like if u leave it in gear and start it, it'll move

Did you replace the master? It's always best to replace both of them together ans the new one will stress the old one even more. New clutch line too.

Yes forks can bend and/or crack, not often on the NAs, this is more of a TII problem due to the heavier pressure plates.

The pivot ball the fork rides on can also wear and snap off, which may be your problem.

Before you drop the tranny for a look-see, do the master. If that solves the problem, great, you will probably need to do it soon anyway.

if the fork was bent, the salve cylinder wouldn't make contact with the fork. its possible that the master is bad, not allowing enough fluid to engage the clutch or retract it.
