i have a 80 SA. daily driver... very lightly moddified.. the most im gonna do for a while is light mods and bolt on perf. parts... and i need a new clutch, my old one is going... but wat to by???

i was thinking the ACT kit model ZC1-HD00.. which is basicly a heavy duty plate with a stock disc. i found a kit for 253. at http://www.importevolution.com/produ...oducts_id=2278

is this gonna be the best thing for me to do? i want a clutch thats gonna be good for a dd, but hold up for the weekends .

i know its a double post, but i searched and couldnt find wat i was looking for., that and i feel more confident about buying **** when i talk to peple directly about it. Thanks a bunch.

I love my centerforce. (around $300 iirc)

What every you do, don't skimp on a clutch. It's a important part and you don't want to worry about beating on it a little when the mood strikes.

i looked at the centerforce, but couldnt find one i liked (atleast not in my price range....) but 300 isnt that far off of wat im going to spend... so i dunno.... do u use it as a DD though?

I have daily driven my car without a propblem, though I do not currently.

I have the centerforce duel friction clutch and a racing beat light steel flywheel.

It feels great, medium pedal pressure and very hard grabbing.

Get a flywheel at the same time if you can afford too.

^^^ Agreed. Do a flywheel upgrade while you're at it. I've got an ACT stage II with a lightweight flywheel. Definitely worth the money.

Just remember that you have to be careful with a high-grip clutch. If you drive it like a regular one it will be dead in notime. It's best to slip as little as possible, treat it like an on-off switch. It's not hard at all to do in a daily driver, but it does take a bit of getting used to.

Ive gone through a lot of clutches and brands, and the best Ive found so far is SPEC. Ill never buy from another company again. you can get a Stage 1 for $269 (262ft lbs capacity) or a stage 2 for $319 (302 capacity). I assure you youd love it, best made clutches and freindliest staff. They are located within 20 minutes of my house and are a smaller company than most, so you get more personal service and they can even build stuff to your specs. Good luck on the search

ps if you get a flywheel, they also make the best quality flywheels ive seen/ used. and you can get them for cheaper than pretty much any brand

stock clutch replacement is enough for a lightly modded car. I have the Exedy clutch kit, worth the $100 and change.

well the best way to look at this is like this, my car most likely wont ever see above 200hp.
i was looking the exedy kit. are those new parts? or rebuilt? and how long do they hold?

yeah, a stage II is more than is really necessary for the power, but I like having much faster engagement and with the lightweight flywheel it makes shifting a blast =P

With bolt on type stuff your car most likely will never see over 140-150hp.

Stock clutch will be more than fine, and you won't have to worry about wrecking transmissions or U-joints. An $89 parts store clutch was enough for me to chirp the tires in 4th gear at 80mph in my '80.
