Well sir, You need to read the Faq's and learn about these engines.
These engines burn oil. Blue smoke on start up is normal (depending on how much).
How bad is it. As i said these engines are designed to be burning a small amount of oil. The oil pools after shutting down the engine and then results in a cloud after start up.
Welcome to the forum. Read about these engines. Read through random threads even if you dont think it pertains to you
As well when posting, post more info. There are many different models and 2 different types of engines within stock first gens. Year and model, and engine is helpful. As well as any mods.
Otherwise its like hey, my chev smokes on start up.........

Check the omp rod make sure the omp is fully closeing and opening with the throttle. If the rod is some how bent other than the original bends it night be allowing the omp tio deliver more oil than normal. Also you can do a Flow test on the omp to see if it is delivering the proper amount. Keep in mind that the rotary uses oil and on startup they will produce some smoke which clears up in warmup.
This is just a couple of things that are simple to test and easy to do.

If so it's an oilcontrol o-ring gone bad. Time to rip her apart.
