cleaning insturment cluster plastic

cleaning insturment cluster plastic

has anyone cleaned the insturment cluster cover (clear) mine has some scratches and dont look too nice...is a fine steel wool ok?

Don't use the purple 409 spray cleaner, it hazed my lens in spots, maybe some ingredient ate away at the 20 year old plastic? Other than that, dunno

I actually windexed mine today. It was all dusty inside and out - looks much better now. I wouldn't try using steel wool, even the #0000 scratches plastic (I just tested it out).

Sounds like you want to polish it, not clean it. I think that eastwood might sell something for plastic windows on convertibles. Good luck!

Steel wool will definitely scratch the plastic.
I use Novus plastic polish, works great!

I just took mine out and threw it in the garbage. I tried to clean it but the foggy patches would not come out and since it had two big cracks, b'bye crappy lens.

Now my gauges look really, really clean. Until they need dusting I guess...
