Clarification on GSLSE ignition timing

I’ve done 12a distributors in the past. Disconnect vac lines…

ok. I swear I read, warm up the GSLSE, disconnect the vacuum solenoid valve and set the timing.

now I read again where it seems there were no provisions and you just set it .

i don't think i've checked a GSL-SE, but the 12A cars actually turn off the vacuum solenoid at idle, so i think you can just set it (as long as the TPS is set)

The 12A cars don't have a solenoid, they have a port on the carb plate that doesn't pull vaccum at idle, so no need to pull the vacuum lines unless your idle is high. I have no clues on the 5 letter process.
