Hey guys i recently removed my rats nest and am in need of assistance. I tried staring the car and it wont turn over. I really need help to get in started and maybe someone from the cincy area could come over and take a look at what I have done??

It won't turn over? As in when you go to crank, the engine will not spin?

Best thing I can suggest until you find local help is to download the fsm for your year and the carb manual. Go over every part you touched and compare it the manuals. first thing I'd check is spark. It's easy to bump the dizzy cap and misalign it. Next step is check and see if you still have the ground wire from the firewall to the engine connected, after that, go over the ignition wiring, the electrics for the carb, is the choke working, check for vacuum leaks, etc..

I think he means the starter is not turning when he turns the key to start.

That narrows it down to 5-6 things.

Battery
Key Switch
Solenoid
wires
starter
Poltergeist

 

Reason #6 sounds very possible.
