Chrome B-pillar/roof trim???

Hi, I was looking at buying this particular RX7, and I noticed that it has some kind of strange chrome thing on the b-pillars/roof. Is this a factory option, or is it just some piece of crap somebody stuck on there to bling it out? Either way, has anyone ever seen it before, and can it be removed? Thanks

Dude, that is a targa band. Rare and worth around $200.

If it is glued on as it appears to be, there might be some glue damage/residue underneath.

my buddys '85 has one of those, kinda lame IMO since it really isnt a "Targa" just says so on the side.

as said above it can be removed and its fairly easy, but there will be marks left where it was attached.

j/k its all personal taste, if you like it leave it, if you dont someone here will give you pretty good money im sure.

its was a factory option and there was also an aftermarket version. i dont remember which one was which but one was a single piece and the other had 3 pieces.

I think the single piece might be factory (VERY, VERY RARE) and I know the 3 piece was dealer/aftermarket.

I have a couple of the 3 piece... might be selling one to finance my upgrades...

But I'd KILL for the once piece...

All a matter of personal taste.
You could say the same thing about body kits and spoilers.
For that matter aftermarket wheels, stereos etc.

yeh if you were to remove such a thing the paint would most likely be faded either side of it and the paint underneath would probably be in not to good shape, i personally think that they are horrible and should never been seen on an rx7...
