Choke wont stay out
Choke wont stay out
Eversince i removed my emmision controls (via, Carl, and Pratches illiustrated guide. Thanks guys.
) my choke always wants to pull back in. This sucks in the moring and in the winter when it takes my car 10 minutes to warm up. I was looking at it last night and i figured i could just take the return spring out of its box, but i thought it would be better to ask questions before i start ripping things open. Anyone have a suggestion as to what might of caused this? Ide like to fix it so the cable is loose and i can push it in when i want to.

On the back of the waterpump housing is a switch. Thats the water temp choke switch. It has 2 wires about 5 inches long terminating in a rectangular plug. Maybe you unplugged it accidentally? Or broke a wire off it.
To test it, disconnect the connector and jump the 2 harness wires to each other. The choke should now stay out no matter what the engine temp is.
