Choke wont stay out

Eversince i removed my emmision controls (via, Carl, and Pratches illiustrated guide. Thanks guys. ) my choke always wants to pull back in. This sucks in the moring and in the winter when it takes my car 10 minutes to warm up. I was looking at it last night and i figured i could just take the return spring out of its box, but i thought it would be better to ask questions before i start ripping things open. Anyone have a suggestion as to what might of caused this? Ide like to fix it so the cable is loose and i can push it in when i want to.

Shawn

On the back of the waterpump housing is a switch. Thats the water temp choke switch. It has 2 wires about 5 inches long terminating in a rectangular plug. Maybe you unplugged it accidentally? Or broke a wire off it.

To test it, disconnect the connector and jump the 2 harness wires to each other. The choke should now stay out no matter what the engine temp is.

Yeah, you probably unplugged it as it's right next to all the emissions crap.
