I would assume that he's going to be running the Nikki since that is a 12A manifold.

rx3 manifolds don't have the sleazy shudder valve and all the air ports. if you can find one.

Good job! Now drop a Nikki on there and enjoy your newly channeled manifold.

How did that manifold work out for you? Cutting a channel worked very well in an FB manifold I worked on last year. It was an automatic '84, and it was actually pretty fast.

Hey Jeff, I guess I've missed the introduction to this great new idea somewhere along the line. I've seen it mentioned a couple of times, but can you explain to me what the benefit is?

It supposedly doubles the vacuum signal to the idle circuit because both primaries and secondaries are pulling a vaccum at the same time, instead of like on the older, seperate runner manifolds, where only the primary ports pull on the idle circuit. The channel is basically just a way to share a vacuum signal. Not much actual flow from the primary barrels actually transitions over to the secondary runners and vice versa.

I've tried it both ways on 13B Hitachi carbs, and on the later carb models which were intended to run on channeled manifolds, they do indeed run better on a channeled manifold. The older carbs, like from the '70s, seem to run ok on either manifold so far - I'm still in the process of testing this. My testing will be complete when I try a '74 carb on a non channeled manifold in my 13B powered MG Midget project soon. But first I gotta try a later model carb that was intended for use on a channeled manifold, on an originally seperate runner manifold in which I cut a set of channels. I fabbed up a throttle cable for it yesterday and I hope to get it fired up in a week (in my baja).

the hvac cover plate! do I fill any of the holes with JB weld before I put the plate on? the intake gasket. does it go dull side to the motor. or does it matter. Is ky safe to hold the O ring s in place?

Use some hylomar to hold your o rings in place. It won't swell the seals up afterwards...

The SA's are good to. No shutter just cap unused vac's.
