cheapest tires for stock rims (searched)

yea like it says i need some cheap tires and i was sondering if anyone else had some prices to compare with mine to see if i need to keep searching.
these prices are for new tires not used if you know of a used tire dealer online that should help me. so far i have found the cheapest shipped to be mastercrap lexington es 335 shipped to my door (4 tires 185/70/13) for 158.89 from www.tires-easy.com.

Has anyone been able to find much better? i Just need some tires to keep me on the road for the next couple of months i never drive over 80mph and that is being generous. I searched and all i found were people looking for deals on performance tires and recomendations.
thanks for any help in advance.

You might want to distinquish between expense and value. For the best bang for your buck I would go with Yokohama Avid Touring, about $220 shipped and mounted for a set of 4 at Discount Tire. Less expensive than "performance" tires but with great handling, a smooth quiet ride, excellent traction, good gas mileage and they are rated for 80,000 miles, more than any other I've seen.

Try the Sumitomo HTR 200 from tirerack. They are good street tires with excellent grip for street driving and in the rain and they have good treadwear. I might be selling a set of used ones soon.

Sams club was 18.99 a tire... But they are like 165 70 or something ridiclious. Definatly not a performance tire and pretty narrow. Great for gas mileage though.

Walmart = cheap, this is true. But it's false economy to buy tires that perform poorly and last half as long as a set that might cost 20% more.

About the Sumitomo HTR 200 205/60/13's, be aware that these tires are about an inch shorter than stock tires, so they won't fill out your wheel wells properly and your speedometer will be off a bit. Also the wider track may give you better traction on acceleration, but it will also reduce gas mileage and handling in the turns won't be as crisp.

Unless you have done some modifications to significantly increase your horsepower, the stock tires are probably best way to go and you can't beat those Yoko's for a good deal.

The Mazda engineers had it right when they put 13" tires on this car, you sure save a bunch when you visit the tire store. So why skimp when the stock size is a good deal already, get yourself some decent tires, 185/70/13's!

I wish you lived down by Atlanta, I have two sets of used stock tires you could have, both with the raised white lettering and some miles left. Let me know if you are passing through.
