CP Racings is cheap and seems pretty good. Ill know soon, they have been having issues with one of their hardware suppliers so ive had a slight wait on my parts. When they get here i will tell ya. Only 115 shipped

I want to know: why is it that the brace is often twice the price for first gens compared to second and third gens? Is there that much difference in design to support the supply and demand theory? I wouldn't think so.

I've seen and handled the CP bar and I was NOT impressed at all. The general construction was shoddy and the tubing was very flexible.

Does anybody know much about any OTHER strut braces that are inexpensive, yet perform? Is it best just to build my own if i need it to be inexpensive?

If you're looking for quality, cheap doesn't factor in. The RB part is a good quality part, and on top of that, it looks good, too. The construction is lightweight using flat bar steel instead of tubing. While I can see the benefits of tubing for strength, the flat bar is plent strong for this location, and with it's triangulated design, the cutouts are functional to reduce weight without causing strange stresses through the structure.

For $249, it's a good price, and comes in powdercoat white. I had this one painted in BZ21-T at the same time that I did my exterior paint, but you get the idea:

wow, i envy you. anyways, what i might do is fabricate one until i can afford the real deal. this way, i can get the more important things....(exhaust, headers..) but thx for sharing your opinion.

I have connections to Rx7 products....some of which include strut braces.

One is a non adjustable that is $145.25 + Shipping
The other is adjustable and its $221.15 + Shipping.

If you are interested I can get you some pics, and they can be ordered through me.
