Hate to burst your bubble, but the slowest Pacifica (3.5L Automatic AWD) is 9.6 sec 0 - 60, which is much faster than a 12A Automatic RX-7.

Now why would you go and tell me that haha. I heard it was 9.1 for the 12A. Anywhos, it probably seems slower in the pacifica cause it swells with speed more than a throwing you back in your chair accel.

If you are planning on modding it would be pointless to mod without getting a manual. I've heard that the auto really holds the car back and doesn't let it rev much, either. So if you want to make the car faster at all make a 5 speed on the top of your list. That in its self should make the car much more fun to drive.

An automatic in a 7 is like an automatic in a miata, just doesn't go with the theme and spirit of the car.

Yeah, and I know from experience you need a manual to get the most out of a low horse power engine

hey welcome to the form i just bought a 82 auto on the 02-23-09 i couldn't stand it any longer swapped it out about a week ago. It was a job but it came out good. but i have a bering nose in my tranny so its coming out after smog 4 a rebuild. My advice stop driving it and sell it back to your friend. and run away from it and never look back. lol you don't want it. trust me. you will git addicted to it and then thers no turning back. well Goood look with the car my friend.
