cheap carb/intake suggestions??
i wanna get a cheap aftermarket carb and intake that will be able to support more power than the nikki, but not break the damn bank.
i really dont like the nikki, all the **** on it, all the hassle to get it running and all the emissions **** (plus, the choke on mine is frozen open anyway... ******* shaft just dosent turn)
so i'm looking for something with a choke too if possible, just a manual choke, i'm good at those. This will be going on in conjunction with an RB Exhaust, so keep that in mind, maybe not right away, but certianly soon afterwards.
after looking, i can get a pair of dellorto 40 dhla's for $130, and then sell one of them to make back some money... so then all i need is a 12a weber/dellorto intake??? for as cheap as i can get one?... would the racing beat "lower manifold 12a" under dellorto components, for $168 be acceptable for use with this carb?

I have a deloro sidedraft 46mm I BELEAVE 46mm carb... I heard deloro made the best carbs out there... only 1 problem I CANT FIND ANY REBUILT KITS FOR THEM... called up the local parts house they cant findany... Called up racing beat... they dont carry em... I saw a rebuild kit in the parts trader a while back for like $45 and have been kicking my self in the *** ever since... ANY WAY if I were you I would get the carbs... they sound like a good deal... I have never priced a pair though... http://www.thepartstrader.com has the is the best classifieds for rotarys I have found... I havent spoted any intakes for that yet but I am shure they will come up sooner or later... or you could always use them for tradeing purposes...

i_piss_on_hondas, Go look at the top of your carb, it will say what size it is there. As for rebuild kits, Go here, this is where I got mine a few months ago.
http://www.cbperformance.com/ They don't have an option for the 300 needle and seat anymore so If yours is still in good condition I would reuse it till you found another one. Otherwise it will only come with the 225 needle and seat and I dont' think that is large enough, At least not large enough for a 13B anyways.

jutny, what are you running? stock port?
if you don't have a ported motor, then your "cheapest" option would be just getting the Nikki rebuilt (without the emissions nonsense on it ) and just using that. you said you want something that will support more power than the Nikki, but without a ported engine ... THAT carburator simply doesn't exist.
if i'm understanding you correctly about the Dell'Orto's you speak of, then you would also need to get the upper manifold as well, because the manifold you'd be getting would be for twins (most likely, not Rx-7 compatible). but it doesn't matter, because revhed was right. the 40's are too small for stockport motors, much less anything else.
besides, i'm running a Dell'Orto 48 on my 13B and i'm not a HUGE fan. i like it and all, it makes decent power, but i want something MORE ... in comparison, i loved the way my Nikki felt on my old 12A's! so my point is, be careful waht you wish for ...
what is it about the Nikki that you despise so much? we can start there, and then try to come up with a plan ...
