I changed my air filter from a K&N to an AMSOIL foam filter. The AMSOIL one is way better my car already feels more responsive, and the foam ones clean more crap out then the K&Ns do.

Get it on the dyno and get some numbers, seat-of-the-pants dyno doesn't count...

 

The K&N filters just fine as long it's oiled up correctly.

As for performance... I'm with mar3 on this one.

 

it cost about $25 canadian. And research has been done on them. air flow is equal or greater then a K&N and it filers signifigantly better then the K&N.

 

how do you know it cleans better and were did you get your info. most foams that aren't oiled are crap. not all but most. in a head to head test on cone filters, apexi was the top on filtration and hp gains and K&N had tied on cleaning with only a few hp given up. i don't think amsoil was in the test unfortunately. but it would really make me be leary.
