You could get one of those CD players with the FM modulator in it. It provides the signal to the radio through FM radio. Just tune in the right frequency and your off. Don't know how well they work though. No personal experience.

You can pick up cd changers from most brands that allows you to play your cd's through your radio. They sound pretty good and work as a pseudo anti theft device because no one would think of stealing the stock radio out of an old 80's car

i was going to go that route until i actually got to compare the 2...

the fm modulator type, although it sounds good...is only as good as your clearest radio signal...

when next to the real deal you hear the difference like night and day...same goes for those portable cd players with the cassette attachement

thats why i decided to go the route i did...but...i do love that stock look...and agree with the antitheft aspect of it

its upto you...do you want to play cd's with the quality in it or willing to sacrifice quality for looks? it was a REALLY tough call for me...

check out my install

You can always keep the stock radio for stealth and looks purpose. Then install another deck in different location like the glove compartment.

The FM modulator route, because it uses the antenna to input the sound into the headunit, limits the stereo separation and decibal difference between the floor and signal strengths leading to the degraded sound. You shouldn't get CD quality sound with them by design.

The music sounds 10 times better off the cd system then cassette or radio........I think this is the best option versus switching the stereo out.........

Agreed. I have gone this route in the past, and am in 100% agreement.
