Car's Elelctrical Cutting Off?

Hello,

Help me troubleshoot this. My cousins 83 GSL has some sort of electrical problem.

What Happens?

Drive around for a couple of miles, hit a hard bump, all electrical cuts off and the battery totaly dies Give the car a jump and it starts. drive around turn around a corner hard and it does the same thing.

Voltage on the Battery gauge reads about 13 volts.

All lights look strong.

Alternator replaced august 2005

Starter replaced 1 month ago

I tried moving wires around and jiggling the fusable link connections, but nothing happens.

Any Ideas?

thanks

I am going to take a wild guess and say that you do not have your battery tied down and when you go around corners or hit a bump it shorts out against the hood..cover up the positive post on your battery and get that sucker tied down,,it could fall in between the fan and motor and tear every thing to rat ****!

A quick look to the underside of the hood can give you a good idea if it is shorting out. You will have a round burn mark about 6 to 12 inches from the headlamp.

haha, something so simple as that. It makes sense. I'll have to check his hood to see.

thanks
