Easiest way I know of is to remove the center console and armrest console. At the bottom of the stereo surrond there are bolts that mount to the floor (2 of them), remove those. Then you have to pull like hell, careful as you pull. If you pull from the sides you risk tearing the carpet in half if it is real old. Try to pull from the center areas near the hump. It is a pain in the *** but it will come out.

Hardest part is getting it out from under the heater box. Even harder to get it back in under the heater box...

Found the easiest way to get it back under the heater box is the make a cut up the center of the carpet in the hump area as it goes underneath. It stays in place and you cannot tell that it has been cut.

Ya, thats a good idea, I should do that with my car. Right now I just kind of have it bunched up near the front where it kind of got lodged against the heater box...

Yep, I tried doing it without cutting it yesterday and almost blew a gasket, if you know what I mean

After I cut it, it took about 2 minutes to have it in place. I only cut within about a few inches of where it joined the open spot under the stereo surrond. It fits perfectly now.

I had to cut mine to get it in... only thing that sucked about that is ~2months later I had to pull the dash and everything anyway.

I'm resto-modding another FB now... I'm trying to do it *all* the right way so it's like a new car when it gets back on the road.
