Carburetor Tuning for 45mm OER
Ok guys, given my recent trouble and woe with ahorrible rebuild kit on my nikki, I have decided to get this carburetor:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=280030709275
Now, they said they will rejet it for free. I plan on telling them that I own a 79 RX7. what specifications would you reccomend me getting for a stock 12a? I plan on doing full exhaust/rats nest removal soon, porting sometime in the future (street).
Thanks guys!

To save you $$$, do a search so you dont have to invest on another carb.

the rx has about 15k miles on it, I will be streetporting it when that engine goes south. should be a few years from now. for this time, I will just use this carb. any specifications I should tell them?

If you want an OER, it might be worth checking out rotaryshack. http://rotaryshack.com/Products/carb...sp?intView=100 I would guess they would be able to more appropriately jet the carb for a rotary than the ebay store.

Now that I looked at that site, I am wondering what else besides the carb and manifold I need.
so far I ordered the manifold to block gasket. Would Racing Beats Part Number: 16487 work for the gasket for carb to manifold? also looking at the air filter, Part Number: 16625.

Tuning these carbs are quite easy if you know how they work. If not it's all jiberish. All the searching in the world will not help you unless you teach yourself.
I was in the same boat as you are now. Do yourself a favor and get a book on Weber dco/dcoe carbs. The Weber parts are interchangeable with the oer and they are almost identical. I bought a couple of books and read them both. "Weber carburators" by Pat Branden, and "How to build and power tune Weber and Dellorto carburettors" by Speedpro series. Good books. A particular set up that works for one, doesn't mean that it will work for the other. Fuel jets, air jets, idle jets, pump jets, venturies, emulsion tubes, etc. If you don't know what they do, you will not know how to trouble shoot and tune your carb.
Those impulse buys will kick you in the *** sometimes. PM Robert at the Rotary shack. He's a pro with these carbs.
