Hey everyone, I'm back with another carb question. I have pretty much everything to rebuild this OEM Nikki carb just waiting on the rebuild kit. I was cleaning out the car to find some bolts and things since there were a few left around and I even found one of the two weights!
I am, however, missing a few small pieces so far and I was wondering if anyone knows how I can get ahold of smaller items like this and salvage the build. Below is the manual for the first gen carbs, I'm working with the 1981 rx7 and the missing pieces are highlighted.
I'm missing both sight glasses that go on the sides of the carb bodies, one bezel for those sights. I am also missing one of the weights, but I'm not sure if it's the big one or the smaller one, I'll include a picture of it next to a bolt for size reference. I think the one I found is the bigger one though.
Where can I search to find these parts? I was thinking I could go to a scrap yard and just find some sights and a bezel but I'd need to find one that's the same size and I don't know how many would match, if anyone knows that would be great! Probably the hardest thing to recover is both number 66s, those air bleed scews. No idea where I would even get those except from another carb but that's gonna be a hard find. I know I can get some steel *****, one 2.5mm and the other 3mm from McMaster-Carr and they should work just fine to replace the check ***** but I don't know how I would do the missing weight. Any information is helpful! Thank you! Missing parts
Also, if you can get a carb from an 81 model year that would be best. Then you can be confident the parts are exactly what you need for your carb. Things like t he site windows and screws and such are probably the same across the years but the air bleeds and some of the other bits for tuning may be year specific. @Jeff20B probably has some of the best knowledge on what these small differences might be.
