Carbs?

What carbs are out there for my 82? what Is the best carb to eliminate wasted power due to emmissions and ease of installation and tuning? should I go to twin webber 48 IDA? Or should I step Up to a 51mm webber?
I think the 51 mm is just the 48 bored out am I right. I got all think Knowledge from the racing beat technical catalog.

And what are the part numbers for these carbs?

Or does anyone have webbers or holley carb on their rx-7? tell me about what youve experienced with these two brands advantages and disadvantages.

thanks Matt.

You don't need anything bigger than a 48 for a 12A.

I'd go side draft. dcoe weber, mikuni or dellorto.

I have a holley on my SE and don't like it.

I have a Dellorto 48 DHLA SideDraft, I havent put it on yet, But I can tell you know its not that parts are hard to find they are just expense becuase they have to come from across the pond (UK).

Also are you putting this on a Stock port? Or Someother sort of port?

I have the Holley carb and the one thing I can say is it is extremely sensitive to the outside conditions and temps. If you understand the Weber and do not mind the prices that go with it, go for it.

yeah like seldawg said the holley is very funny, one day it cranks right up and then the next you cant get it to start for nothing. i have heard once you get the holley tuned and adjusted your good to go but until you get it perfect its a nightmare, it is for me atleast. i got it close one day and drove it three days in a row and man it had a set of nuts on it and then it got cold like dropped 20 degrees from when i drove it last and now i can get it to crank. just a headache.

Jah Bra I been Reading up on my racingbeat catalog in tips sections They say i need to get a open header and stuff to see real power gains from the holley setup.

Does anyone got the double pumper holley in their car?

It says theres no vaccum advance for power brakes would this affect braking?

Brakes have not been affected. I removed all vacuum lines when i installed the intake and holley kit. RB is right. For noticable gains you want to remove all the cats and replace the exhaust. Once you do that you will notice a difference. My rpms are higher by about 1500 as well.

750 at idle. I ment that my engine now revs higher since i modified with the RB intake, carb and long primary exhaust.I could not explai to you why, but now it revs up to somewhere between 9000 - 9500. Could be because it breathes much better. I have another 12 a I got for free ( guy did not know how to fix the stock carb ) that has 15k on the rebuild I am going to streetport intake and exhaust

I don't hold it there. Nothing but your basic rebuld. This is a test motor to see how much truth too the myths. I have heard of guys runniing these motors hard for 80k before failure. We shall see.

Great idea

I think I am going to get a used Holley after I fix my bins, And respray shees a beaut, only 116k on a rebuilt but she was rallied lots in calgary so she had some rust issues, nothing my gringer could'nt fix heh.

Im riveting on the new pannel and securing it to the inner fenders with glass and resin with a think coating of pro-gaurd undecoat spray.

Off topic but i love this thing called Rotary.

the souds are sweet.

I love just hitting 3k then shifting then shifting again keeping em low then dropping it into second and blast off, when shes warm of course

Best Regards Matt
