Carbon Fiber Window Switch Panel

So I picked up a sheet of carbon fiber yesterday to make a replacement window switch panel. My stock one's tab were all broken off, and when I would take my seat belt off it would smack the center console and make my switch panel bounce up.

I covered each side of the sheet with mask, and measured up the holes and drew them out on the sheet. I cut it all out with a jig saw, and smoothed my edges with a file and sander. 4 holes were drilled in the corners to allow the allen head screws to hold it to the center console.

I took the stock switch panel from my parts car, and cut off the rectangular clips that house the switch in place. I epoxy'd them to the back of my carbon filer panel.

I have a friend with a CNC router who said if I get enough interest in these he can cut them for me. Let me know if you are interested, I can have two types made, one with the 2 switches and no joystick cutout, and the other style with the 2 switch holes and WITH the joystick cutout. I will design a better way of holding the switches so you dont have to cut up your stock one. Hex hardware will be included as well. Let me know if you'd be interested in one of these.

That's badass.

I wish I had a need for it, then I'd get it, but no need.

If my stock one had the clips still and would stay in place, I wouldnt have made this, but that wasnt the case. I figured I'd take pics and see if anyone else on here would be interested in one if their stock one was busted.

Im workin with the guy gettin them drawn up for the CNC routher. Once thats done and I figure out a way to better mount the switches or use new switches, perhaps smaller if I can find them, kinda hard to find (on)-off-(on) DPDT switches. If anyone knows, please let me.

Nice look, can you do other materials, ie: wood grain, polished aluminum.

Yeah, you can get some really nice switches from www.eunos.ca

I'm getting my pushbutton start from them.

Im not seein ANY switches, let alone a push button start. Looks like parts only. They do have electrical, but combination switches and logicons.

You might be able to use the retro toggle switches. The big ones are usually off in the center and on when flipped in either direction.

I was kinda trying to stay away from toggle switches. I dont personally like the way they look, and if I cant figure out a way to mount the factory switches without cutting up a stock panel for the mounting, I was going to drill out the panel for new switches and include them in the "kit" with wiring, but cannot find a rocker switch with the specs I need.

DPDT ROCKER SWITCH, (ON)-OFF-(ON)

Ok, it looks like this is the only option. I mean I found others, but they were upwards of $16 per switch, and they were ugly too. Let me know what you guys thing of these.

They are about 7/8" x 1-3/16" I know its kinda large, but they arent quite as big as the stock ones. And they are inexpensive, $2.86 each.

I'm going to get 2 of them and make another panel to see how they look. If it looks OK, and I get enough interest in them, I will start to produce them.

Kit would include:
1 panel (with or without joystick)
4 Hex Head screws
2 Switches
1 wire harness to attach switches to factory plug (no cutting or soldering req'd)
