Here are some electronic parts suppliers you could try for switches:

The last one is the largest(I have their paper catalog and it's at least 5 inches thick.)

This one is $1.19 http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/sto...oductId=577686
But I'm not 100% sure it's momentary.

I've checked all those places earlier today and last night a little bit. There are these really nice sealed switches they have for boats and motorcycles, but they are slightly larger and are about $16.00 a piece!

I'm going to get 2 of the switches I posted above, and make a whole new panel, figure out the wiring and post pics for you all to check out. If it looks decent, I will start production. Right now they are estimated to be between $20-$30 plus shipping for everything needed to swap it out and instructions.

You might consider providing blank panels with the screws as an option too. Many of us have manual windows and base/no stereos.

Just look on that page. They make a variety of custom switches and toggles. Very cheap compared to some of the other options I've seen.

I dont actually mold the carbon myself. I am having premade sheets CNC cut. The change holder is divided for coin size isnt it?

The oem panels have cutouts that accept the switches or the coin holders, which are worthless, that's why I suggested blanks. That way buyers have the option of installing other switches/devices to suit thier needs.

So the coin slot is a snap in piece, like the joystick? If so, they probably use the same size hole (cutout)? Let me know if it snaps out, and if so what are the dimensions of the cutout?

Joystick Cutout is about 47.5mm X 47.5mm

Put me down for one, I'd like polished aluminum or wood grain though, when you're ready for those materials.

Here is what it looks like with the new switches. I think I'm going to use these, plus they are the only ones that I can find that are reasonably priced. I need to find a wire connector that will mate up to the factory one, so it will be plug and play.

I didnt mount this one, its just sitting in there, thats why there is no screws or holes for them.

Looks good. Do you know the current rating on those switches? As you probably know, the 7 passes all of the current through the switch instead of using a relay. I think it would be nice if you offered an option with relays. Shouldn't be too hard to do and the switches will last longer and the windows will work better.

One other thing: The earlier cars ('83 and earlier) have a different connector than the 84/85. The 84/85 use a single plug, while the earlier cars have two connectors. If you can find the connectors, you will need to do a early kit (81-83) and a later kit (84-85). I am not sure when power windows became available. I don't think they were available in 79/80, but I could be wrong.

These switches are rated at 20A. Im pretty sure that should cover it.

As far as the kits, the 84-85 will be with these switches, and 83 and earlier will have cut outs to drop the factory switch in place. Those dont require any different mounting unlike the 84-85 switches.

I just need some 83 window switches to use for fitment.

I cannot find this plug anywhere, I've found stuff thats close, but dunno if it will work without ordering it and trying it.

Here's where I found them:

http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.u...product_id=391

http://www.wire-works.com/wiringaids.php

If you can lead me to a place that has this plug and will work, I will give you a panel for free.

Here's what I need: (Dont need the wire, just the plastic plug and the metal connectors.)

that must be for the 84-85's because the 83 have 2, 4-prong connectors. I'll see what I can find.

Well I think I've got a solution to the connector issue. I will solder new wires on the new switches, and put the spade connectors on the ends of the wires, and give detailed instrctions with pictures, on how to remove the plastic connector from your stock switches, and push the new spade connectors into it in the right order so it fits like a glove.

These are the 3 styles offered:

There is no cutout - the coin tray is molded in place. It's a different part than the switchplate w. joystick cutout.

Ok, so I now need to find someone else to CNC these for me. I will supply my own material, I just need a RELIABLE (cannot stress this enough) machinist. If anyone knows anyone that can do this simple design on 3mm carbon fiber, please help me out. I wanna get these cut and out there in some cars already.

Thanks

take the panel off and the joystick comes off the same way that the window switches do. POPS out!
