carbon deposits on spark plugs

Lately, my (85 se 77,000 miles)is not cold starting as quickly as before. Everything is stock except with the RB streetport exhaust system. Anyway, I decided to check the spark plugs. They are NKG's with about 11,000 miles on them. All the plugs have this whiteish light brown color on the tip of the electodes as well as on the four adjacent prongs. Those deposits I assume are carbon deposits and actually can be scrape off with a little effort. I replaced with fresh NKGs' and now my car cold starts with ease.
But my questions are: 1. if I see these deposits on my plugs, will there be more inside the engine? 2. by scraping off the deposits can I reuse the plugs?

all plugs get some deposits, a nice brown-cream color is what you want, it will be a touch darker in a rotary compared to a boinger tho
if the plugs are gunking up too much, you can move to a hotter plug

stick with NGK's tho, autolights ate my last engine after a few days use

yes, autolites are satan!!!! wwilliam54, did you ever get satisfaction from the autolite company? also, you can resuse the plugs. i would clean them and keep them as a spare set in the storage bins. there are always going to be carbon deposits in your engine. this can't be helped.

As for cleaning your plugs, what I do is grab a wire brush (holding with the bristles up) and run that plug up and down it a few times...cleans her right up.

Hey Bob...you know, actually I have a bench grinder, but can't get a dang wire brush wheel for it...go figure!
I'll keep that in mind tho...I'm out by Pleasant Lake myself.
