I sprayed some silicon sealant (for ignition parts) around the cap and all the plug connections.

I have to disagree. The premiere race cars all use FI, with the exception of drag racing. (F1, FIA rally, CART, Le Mans). The carb is sometimes easier and cheaper to make mucho power, because it has been researched and developed for forever and a day. But FI is the best fuel delivery system.

Only some classes of top-tier drag racing require carbs. If you look, many classes have fuelie cars. I'm not keen on specifics but I do know that Pro Stock has a "spec" carb of sorts (this may change in the future) but Top Fuel definitely has fuel injection.

that shows my drag racing ignorance. I did not know the top fuel cars were injected. Now that I think about it are they not Nitromethane Injected, or Alchohol injected. DUH

Top Fuel is nitromethane. If you want to burn alky you need to go down to classes like Top Alcohol.

Fuelers run A/F ratios around 1:1... stoich is 2:1 but they need to run them that rich or the engine won't last very long. (Keep in mind that an acceptable engine life is only losing 2 cylinders by the end of the run!)
