O.K.

Now let's talk about cars again.

Rototiller, there is an old thread about wanting to try a Carter. Did you? It was over 600 CFM?

I've got the carb rebuilt, and the adapter made, Hav'nt had time to put it on yet, it is 625 cfm. Looking for smaller jets to start with. It has 95 for the primary and 107's for the secondarys right now and that is way too big. I found some 92's , but I believe I need to start with about 86 in the primary

This stuff is pretty mild compared to my discussions with my carb last weekend. I mean, for the most part I am a fan of the Mazda engineers, but why the f##k did they put those X$%#@@@ nuts down there where no one but a chipmunk could get to them?? Anyway, I hope Gary got his girlfriend's accelerator pump diaphragm fixed, and that's another thing, why don't girls ever have to do this damn stuff??!!@@!

rototiller,

Buy a set of jet drills. Solder the jets closed & redrill them to the desired size. Made them to small? drill 'em out bigger. too big? re-solder & redrill.

This will be a whole lot easier than finding the appropriate jets in the myriad of sizes you'll need for tuning.

j.p.

97 & 107...is that in thous? That might still be too big, even with the slower velocity that the larger carb will have.
I assume you're compensating for slower velocity with larger jets?
Does the Carter have air jets?

Yes thats in thou, it uses a jet and needle on the primary and just a jet for the secondary, with an aux air valve above the secondary's that are controlled by air flow, they are adjustable by drilling holes in the counter weights.
