carb question

carb question

this is my first time writing on the forum and i have a question for you guys. i already have an '85 GSL and thinkin about purchasing an '85 GSL SE Targa. it's been carburated but owner is keeping old carb. what would be a decent carb to get?

So they carbed the fuel injected car? Why?

Maybe one of these? Or, a stock carb off of an early 1.3(70's)? What kind of carb did he have on it? Or, atleast what kind of intake does it have?

Lots of people carb their previously fuel-injected motors. Keeps things simple and cheap.

As far as what carb: if it's streetported I recommend an Edelbrock (Thunder Series if you have the cash, but the Performer Series works well, too). If stockport you can't beat a Sterling-modified Nikki.

he's keeping holley carb and it has rb intake but going to need headers and muffler it's stock the interior been RICED going to have to de-rice it

have you seen it run, cause it seems if he is taking the carb that he may not want to start it around you.

we ran it sounds strong no smoke thru exhaust but intake was leaking coolant on exhaust was steam not smoke

Most likely that is the problem, but... It could also be a coolant seal going bad.
