Exclamation Carb Problems!

Ok i have a 82' GS and it runs great...the carb actually idles quite well...HOWEVER...the other day i did see that it was leaking gas a little (from the throttle linkage/section of the carb...i'm not sure if thats what its called because im not that good when it comes to carbs) when my brother hit the accelerator pedal while in neutral and i do smell gas eveytime i stop somewhere from driving...do you guys think i need a new carb or just get a rebuild kit and rebuild it?? Comments anyone?

Check any leaks from the hardlines/hoses...gastank...look around the carb body...just look. heh And most likely if maybe a gasket has gone bad, then you will probably just need a carb rebuild. Or you could buy a nice new aftermarket carb.

could be the accelerator pump. It is a square shaped thing attached to the carb in that general area IIRC. I belive that the only way to fix AP is to get a rebuild kit. Or, if you happen to know someone with an extra you could swap them.
