carb number for 84 gsl

i'm going to be buying a carb rebuild kit sometime this week and i was just woundering if the carb number comes from the ECU thats in the car, the first letter and follwing 3 numbers from there? Such as N249 off the ecu would be first numbers from the carb number?

1. If you have a GSL, you have no ECU
2. The carb has no number. No matter how many times the guys at the part store tell you it does, it doesn't. It's a Nikki 4 barrel carburetor for a 1984 Mazda Rx7. If they can't find you a kit with that information, then they're incompetant and should be avoided.

Go to a CarQuest reseller and get a Hygrade/Standard rebuild kit, those are the best. Do a search in this section for Hygrade or Standard and you should be able to come up with Carl's post. It has the kit number. It's within the last two or three pages, so you can flip back and just visit threads in the last three pages with the word "carb" in the thread title.

Well it does have a number on it, but its next to impossible to find it. Its on the side of the float bowl. 96-555 is teh number of the kit. They only go by whats in their computer. Its no biggie, I dont see any significant differences except for the SA carbs.
