hey, ive searched for my answer and i got nothing. so i have a 85 and i was wondering how much hp would i gain if i put on a sidedraft weber dcoe 45 carb on a stock 12a? and would i have to buy any thing else?

exhaust. if you still have the very restrictive stock, it made a world of difference to go to racing beat. I still have the stock carb and couldnt believe the difference.

 

well tuned aftermarket carb and intake manifold, good exhaust and ignition upgrade (2GCDFIS) should get about 150 hp from a 12a.

 

wow, i thought it would be more than that. hey kgray what kind of exhaust do you have? i was thinking about geting the RB (12A) Street Port Complete Exhaust System.

 

more than that? a boinger would never get 50% power gain from those simple upgrades.

 

I have a custom exhaust to a point. Racing beat uncollected header>hollow cat>stock muffler and i know that the stock muffler is holding alot back. I'm probably going free flow. oh and the neighbors can hear you coming.

 

I must tell you though, since I have a very similar setup to what you are mentioning it sure flys. When you lay into the throttle the sound of the weber is a really loud growl that sounds awesome. And it certainily feels like alot more than 150hp, I just can't wait till I get my car to 400 rwhp to see what that will be like

 

yeah, and with a streetport, things will get up to 175+ (depending on which one, and how it is done.)

you shouldn't be complaining. my cousin with his 240z needs to do A LOT more to get the kind of gains you can get with a 12a. btw, I have the normal racing beat exhaust and it kicks ***! The streetport system would be that much better.
