Carb help. Just bought a RX-7 again after 20 years

Long and the short of it is that I had a lot of RX-7s growing up. My last purchase ( which i have had in storage for 20 years) was a 1983 GS with a Dave Kent wide body kit, 13b street-port and a cartech blow thru setup. I recently bought a crashed 1985 GSL with the idea of using some tid bits from this car to help get my 83 going again. Once I showed up to look at the 85 i found a car that hit a guardrail and front and rear on the left side is a bit mangled but the car was really nice before it hit the gaurdrail. Unfortunately the owner past away earlier this year (unrelated to the accident) and now all I know is the guy put a lot of time into this car and was supposedly getting the car ready for boost. So here I am torn about what i should do with car. I'd really like to have the body work repaired (pretty sure i have all the front end parts in storage) and drive the car a bit but i think that I'll be way to upside down in the car if i do that. For now I'm just going to tinker with it and get it running right.

My carb while it is the stock Nikki looks far from stock. It's been a long time since I played with a stock carb but I can clearly see a lot has been modded, I'm just not sure what exactly since it's been so long. The car has a nasty dead spot in the throttle range, I can see the accelerator pump isn't squirting fuel when I give it throttle. I looked on the local parts store websites and no one offers a stock accelerator pump diaphragm. I'm not even sure if this one is stock, the linkage is modified. here's a few pictures, if anyone can shed some light as far as this overall carb setup I'd appreciate it.

Other guys will be along shortly to help with the carb, but on the topic of which car to fix - it comes down to nearly ALL of us being 'upside-down' on their 35-40 year old cars! In the end, if you keep an older car long enough, you will have expended more in repair and upgrade parts (* and even gasoline costs) that far exceed the value ofmthe vehicle, making it upside-down for cost, however - you got to drive a car that inspired you, and earned the satisfaction of keeping it running for all those years.

Don't worry about the cost of doing so; worry about the cost of NOT fixing it and driving it and enjoying the hell out of it while it and you are sharing the fleeting moments in our lives...

Thanks for the insight. My dilemma isn't which one to fix it's if I should fix this one or not. I'm not sure if I should repair this car and get it driving, maybe give it to my son as his first car or I could sell it. I already have my 83 turbo car as my project. To be honest I'm reconsidering that car now as well. It's been 19 years since I've driven that car and after driving this 85 I don't know how in the world I ever fit into these cars. I'm 6'6" and I remember 20 years ago thinking the 83 was super cramped with the recaro seats and a roll bar, I have the feeling I will hate the room now. I thought my Crossfire was a tight fit, the 85 the steering wheel is between my knees. Love the car otherwise tho.
