Car wont start!
Okay Iam new to forum but I have previous rotary expierence. My girlfriend was driving my car around the block to put it away. As she comes around the block the car started to rev itself up. So my girl shuts it down immediatley. The car didnt overheat or anything it just tweaked out and we shut it off. Problem is now the ****** wont turn on. I replaced the starter and charged the battery but all I get is a click! I tried starting it and smoked started coming from the altenator and the fusible links! I havent owned this car for very long but Iam getting to the end of my rope can anybody help me out? My mods are as follows: 13B 4-port w/ mild street port. Holley 650cfm carb, Holley blue pump, NGK plugs and cables.

Thanks alot for the help fellas, sorry I havent updated in a bit. I got laid-off without warning so Iam going crazy trying to find a new job. But Iam looking on the bright side. At least I get to spend more time with my seven! A couple of questions. I started digging under the hood my electrical is fucked up! Wires are spliced, harneses are all over the place (etc....) Iam starting to re-do it today. Is there any where that shows that wiring can leave the car and what should stay? I want my seven to be my sunday car so i just need my headlights and maybe my stereo and the essentials on the engine. Thanks in advance. Carlos

Quick update I started tracing wires and came across wires that were spliced with cables that were just laying there! I removed about 10lbs of useless cable in the cab alone. Iam working on the engine bay now. I zip-tied every thing that was laying around. Iam going to drop my new altenator, coils, battery cables and new battery in today. Are 4 gauge cables thick enough or should I get a different gauge? Iam going to takes pics and let you guys know how it goes.

A couple of questions
Okay so I inspected my carb yesterday by the air horn it has the numbers 80670-1 and 3044 stamped below. I tried searching for a rebuild kit but no luck. Is this a racing beat holley? Does anybody know where I can get more info on the carb? Also Iam trying to figure out what year my engine is how would I be able to tell? I also noticed that around my oil pan theres alot of oil like the engine is leaking. Is it time for a rebuild? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To the original problem. When my car did that it was a seized motor, or vapor locked. I caulked it up as seized, I couldn't turn it by hand. I'm refering to the positive cable smoking when trying to turn the car over.
If that is the case to much ampage is being pulled, you have a stuck starter, which you replaced or something else is stuck causing the amps to crank up and turn the motor.
