Car stolen on New Years Day!

Hmm, this would have to be under the "Worst way to start off a new year" list. I came home on New Years morning after staying at a friends house, to find my Rx-7 was gone! Went out 9:15pm New Years Eve, last time I saw her was when I got into my Eclipse and drove off. Dont think anyone in the area saw anything. No broken glass, nothing. Talked to the cops and they did their little paperwork thing, asked me if anyone else had a key to it, stuff like that. Whew, I think its just starting to sink today. I guess better it happened now then after I dumped a bunch of money into it for new paint. NJ/NY/PA please keep your eyes open please. Picture below.

Here's the assist:

Everybody keep an eye out for this car in NJ, NY, and PA. Good luck in the recovery - I had this happen to my 80LS a few years ago and it is surely a poor way to start out the year. Good news was that the car was recovered about 10 miles away - simply a joyride by some gangbangers, but the car was never the same after that.

Sorry to hear about that. Although I'm not near the shore area I'll certainly keep my eyes open the NW part of the state.

i would hunt this person down. possibly spread the word you are looking for a few gsl-se parts. maybe someone knows a certain person (car theif) who may have recently "aquired" some gsl-se parts. good luck. i'll run a photo and post it in my station. i'll tell the other officers to keep a look out for it here in ohio.

Geez

If the person who stole it could show me how to start mine in the morning..

Ack..

I don't think I have to worry about mine... It takes so long...to start..

If you get it back.. time to invest in custom wiring.. not an alarm..

Thanks guys. I spoke to the detective today. He had me give him the run down again on what happened, and whatever else I could tell him. He said they just recovered a vehicle today that was stolen from a nearby town, up in nyc. Still keeping my hopes up. 2 days now. I'm just hoping for that phone call.

I'm not saying that at all... There are three reasons why a thief steals a car.

1: Joyride-'nuff said..
2: parts for his own car... Unless it's a Civic, it probably wouldn't be stolen for that...
and 3: a "professional" theft... The car gets taken to a chop shop, stripped to the frame, and all the parts are sold off to crooked body shops...

Ouch, that sucks. I got my 80 threatened to be towed cause I had a flat. So, I pumped my tire up and let some air out of this POS van that was abandoned here. Guess what, 3 days and no notes *rolls eyes*

I feel your pain man. My 95 Z28 was repoed on new years eve. I was lied to by the bank so they could basically entrap me into making my payments in cash. Once I got my payment in, they repoed it. Stated they didn't receive last months. Bunch of BS. I basically took out another loan though and I'm gonna go buy it straight out tommorrow. They were so mad when I told em too The car still books quite high and I only owed a little over 4 grand for it.

I'll keep an eye out. I always spot rx's, especially since it's the same color as mine
