You need the Throttle Opener and the AC solenoid valve (white, nearest the firewall) which controls it to be working properly. Shown in the FSM in Chapter 4A, page 65. Basically when the compressor clutch is engaged, the solenoid is triggered by the ECU, it supplies vacuum to the Throttle Opener and the rod on the bottom of the Throttle Opener pulls up on the throttle linkage. Make sure the vacuum line is not leaking. With the engine running and AC on you can adjust the higher idle with the little screw on the top.

if you don't have the factory carb then you will constantly have stalling issues with the a/c on unless you figure out how to increase the idle under load using vacuum.

u can always see if you can attach the throttle opener in some way to the holley linkage, thats probably the only solution unless you want to idle at 2000rpms w/o the a/c so u can be at about 1000 with it on.

I'm sure there is probably some cars that came stock with a holley and throttle opener. Your best bet is to look at you local junk yard.

I adapted the mazda idle compensator to both my mikuni and now my twin Webber DCDs. Just a matter of finding a way to hook it up to the carbs throttle linkage.
