Car seems to not be getting fuel, what's up?
The car sat for a few months.
Car starts fine when i soak it with starting fluid, unfortionately, when it burns all the fluid, it dies. Fuel pump seems to be working fine (ghetto rigged by a switch from the previous owner), i thought it might even be out of gas because there's a hole in the tank and maybe it evaporated, i put a half gallon in the tank, no dice, put another gallon on top of that, no dice. I highly doubt it's because of not sumping enough gas now, any idea what's up? I've heard carbs can "gum up" from sitting, but it's sat for months at a time before and i had no problems.
I don't know, carbs confuse me.

Hell if i know, isn't there a window to check that? I'm not going out tonight to check, it's too cold, i plan working on it tomorrow. So, with that in mind, where are the windows located?

you may have to clean them off depending on the grime... there is a window on the side of each float bowl. with the fuel pump on the fuel should be around the middle of the sight glass.

Take the fuel supply line off and put it in a container and turn the pump on. See if you're getting fuel. Before you blame the carb, you gotta make sure it's getting fuel first.
After verifying getting fuel, check the pressure. You may have to buy a gauge.
How old is the fuel filter?

It's getting fuel in the aspect of from the pump, there's some type of resivour tank before(?*) my fuel pump that fills with gas, then the fuel pump takes gas from that, it's filling that, *i assume that's how it works. I've never looked at it too much, i doubt it'd be after as it appears to be capped and wouldn't hold pressure, then again, it'd get pressure from the tank if there weren't a hole in it, hell if i know how that resivour works. That and the car will start without turning on the fuel pump and run for about 30-60 seconds.
