Car jerks at high rpm...

My car is jerking around 6.5k-7k, when i floor it to about 6.5k, the car would just jerk and it feels like something is stuck in the exhaust or something. The car has a Yaw carb, carter fuel pump, FPR. There is no rat nest in the car.

When's the last time you changed the fuel filter? That's always the 1st suspect to check. Exhaust is a possibility too.

Could be ignition related too. The higher the rpms, the more demand you are putting on the ignition system. Old spark plugs, cracked wires, weak grounding, cap/rotor, and I think that's it. Basically just tuneup stuff, if you haven't done it lately.

Also run a can of Seafoam through the gas tank (1/8 tank of gas + 1 can SF) if you haven't in the last year. This can free up the apex seals etc. and increase the compression a bit.

But first, like Trochoid said; if you haven't changed the fuel filter lately then do that first.
