go with hagarty if you want dependable coverage but the other companies are hit an dmiss. just try them all to you find the one you like. Hagarty quoted mine at $20k car value which isnt bad for a 79 with ls1/t56/8.8 with all the respeed goodies I got. That company will send an adjuster to your house to prepare your quote and they base it off of the value you put into the car as well as its KBB value. I think KBB says my car is worth $4200

I have All State now and only pay $40 per month with full coverage. And at All State the value the car at what you say its at (You pay for it anyways). I currently have mine insured at 8k. But going ot up it. And around $60 per month when I was at AAA.
But All State is good, I had a oops that was about $1,700 for a dented fender. They were quick and there was no issues getting it fixed. I'm not a fan of classic car insurance. You are usually restricted on how and when you can drive a car insured threw them. Last time I was quoted from hagarty they stated they would prefer it only be driven to shows and occasionally on weekends. It couldn’t be driven to work and if there was an incident it may not be covered.

Thats about to change!
Your age + a sports car == high rates. Collector insurance like Hagerty is cheap
because they assume its not a DD, that its driven rarely and when it is driven, its
very carefully driven. Which would apply to any high dollar collector car.
Sounds like State Farm is a good deal, especially of they give you an agreed value
clause. Which you need or else any accident will default to a totalled vehicle based
on the blue book values today.

I have Hagerty with my SA. I have it covered for $5k now and I just had to send them pics and a mod list. I pay ~$300 a year. I plan to up my coverage, and possibly switch to Grundy now that they'll cover me (you have to be 25 for Grundy). When I last checked Grundy was ~$100 a year at the same coverage.

I pay $59/month to insure 4 cars with Progressive. Granted this is liability only. I would never pay high premiums for cars that are still all over and I don't believe for a second that any insurance agency would ever pay what you have your car "appraised" for.

I have the hartford group and am a 21 year old male, turn 22 in a week. my insurance for liability is $15 a month. i asked them for a quote on full coverage and i believe it was $40 a month. though i pay them in six month intervals, but that is what the price was after dividing by 6.

i insured my gsl-se, with all the mods (fd motor, turbo, ecu etc) for $268 a year. this also includes my 57 porsche speedster in the $268. the porsche has 1300 miles allowed per year and a $30,000 agreed value coverage while the 7 gets 6,000 miles per year at a $15,000 agreed value coverage. i went thru north american home insurance.....they will insure what grundy and hagarty wont at way better rates.

Wow, you guys are blessed. I pay $260 a month albeit not on collector's insurance but still. It's the same amount as my T2. In BC if it has 2 doors and it classified as a sports car and you're 20 like me you get no breaks. It's worth it to drive an RX7 though.

My guess is location plays a big factor as well as company.
I bought my GSL-SE when I was 18 (almost 22 now) and my insurance was $65/mo, within 2 years it dropped to $45/mo until I "put it into storage". I believe if I pull it out of storage right now it'll be about $80/mo for both my RX-7 and Tempo (DD).
I have USAA and my coverage is liability plus uninsured motorist protection because San Antonio has a rampant problem with uninsured drivers.

No we just buy it as insurance. There are tons of unpredictable and unavoidable accidents that can wreck your car. Deer, other animals, and road hazards can cause wrecks. There can be hit-and-runs, and other cars that can't be identified, etc. Even falling trees. Without agreed value full coverage you will be SOL. When just a decent paint job alone costs $5,000 to $10,000 insurance companies will try to avoid paying full value. Make sure you get AGREED VALUE through a reputable company like Hagerty, Grundy, etc.
