Car has trouble starting...?

After the car sits over nite or for an extended period of time, (aprox over 6 hrs or so) it has a tough time starting...??

If I try to start again after shutting her down, even a few hrs later (2-3, even 4hrs sometimes) it'll start right up from a simple blip of the key.

I did a search and it seems this is a common symptom but alot of the threads just end with no conclusion as to what the problem was.

My car has a older 13B 4port, YAW nikki, holley blue fuel pump, MSD wires and blaster coils... That's pretty much all I can think of that could be related to the problem.

One of the older threads mentioned fuel slowly leaking after the cars shut, I guess out of the fuel bowls...? but today I pulled the fuse before trying to start her so the fuel pump couldn't run at all and she started up with the same trouble and ran for awhile before the bowls emptied..???

Another thread mentioned MSD coils no good being mounted horizontal... I have had them for about 7 years already... How would I go about checking them..??

When she does catch and start, at first it seems like it's running on one rotor for a few seconds, so I feather the pedal slightly ever so to get her to catch vs stalling again...?? And after the third stall or so it catches, clears up and smooths out.

Ohhhh, car has no choke, but the **** is hooked up to the throttle linkage so I keep a penny wedged in there to warm her up by raising the rpms... but the butterfly is not being closed.

Any ieas...?

My 83 12a does something very similar. It only happens when it sits for more than 1 day however. My instinct says the same as yours, fuel slowly draining from the carb. Not sure however. Maybe someone has the answer.
