car dies on slight rear incline

Done my refub on a FB 1985 12 A , no problem when on flat but when I reverse onto a slight incline -say as high as when on rear axle stands- it cuts out and is hard to start -I leave for a while as fuel pumps runs then will start okay.
I've changed fuel filter ,it was dirty and gritty, cleared breather lines,
I'll try compressed air into tank filter feed,
Is the fuel pump servicable ? it sounds like its pumping ok but...?also good flow to carb but...?
Any suggestions guys ?

Sounds like it's time to clean out the fuel tank. The S3s have a drain plug. Drain the tank, check for debris and rust particles. I use an automotive paint filter set in a funnel when draining tanks to see what kind, how much, crap is in the tank. If it's mostly rust/varnish, then it's time to drop the tank, have it boiled out and resealed. Don't forget to rod out the fuel pickup and return tubes.

Check the fuel level in the float bowls. Should be at the half way mark on both front and rear of carb...

Update

Thanks for suggestions-I'd flushed the tank before ,but while underside I noticed that the feed hoses are quite long and were coiled ,so I assumed that this maybe causing resistance, and as pump may be tired after 25 yrs, I cut them down but leaving enough to flex and this seems to have solved my problem and as well my idle is better and pump sounds healthier
So I was having some fuel starvation all along but never really noticed it ,baby's running nicer and I'm a happy bunny.!
